Midjourney V5 has been released yesterday and the world ran hungry to check the most challenging prompts of V4: Can we have normal pizza now?
You can already understand the power of Midjourney V5, right?
How many instagram posts and photographers updating their portfolios? 😉
Just kidding! The real question is: Can we have normal hands now?
The answer is YES, but kind of.
Most of the times I could get decent arms and hands, but sometimes things went really crazy!
But let’s be honest: We can indeed get pretty realistic results. What make me nuts is having to pay Fast hours (because it’s now disabled Relax mode) to reroll till I get good results. It’s like going to the restaurant and order the food. You try… and discover it’s too salty. Than you need to pay again to get the good one. Oops… they put sugar now. Pay again till you get the one you want! But that’s life for now. 😉
It’s true though that the attention to the details went to the next level.
That small person in the frame won’t have anymore such a weird distorted face… hopefully.
Now let’s talk about photographic beauty (not people’s beauty).
I don’t know what happened with the sense of aesthetics. OMG!
Check the same prompt below and take your conclusions:
Maybe that’s just a truth that we need to face: Real life is not that beautiful as V4 painterly perfect world. 😉
And talking about world, let’s go take some fresh air:
Let’s compare now the influence of the artwork of a photographer being interpreted by V4 and V5:
Checking the details, Midjourney’s V5 is clearly the winner here, but the V4 is more captivating, although it’s a little bit off the photographer’s real pictures.
Before we go, I’ve prepared some others V4 vs V5 images for you to check:
