Yom HaShoa is the Holocaust Remembrance Day. The remembrance of a history that is only a little bit more than 70 years old.
The photographer and digital artist Daniel Farjoun has chosen 3 emblematic pictures for this special day of remembrance so this will never happen again!
The first one is from Warsaw during Uprise of the Nazi hatred.
The second one is a picture from the photographer Wilhelm Brasse.
The girl in the photo is Czesława Kwoka, a child victim in Auschwitz, as shown in her prisoner identification dated around 1942 or 1943.
The third moment is a celebration! Yes!
Polish prisoners in Dachau Nazi concentration camp in Germany joyfully celebrating their liberation by the US Army.
The man standing at center between the bottles wears a P triangle (that means Polish).
As a bonus I’d like to share the image of the day that Ben Gurion signed for the independence of the State of Israel.
After the Jews were persecuted, killed by the millions and expelled from their lands, Peretz Bernstein signs the declaration of independence of Israel on 14 May 1948 (Ben Gurion is smiling on the left).
